World Obesity Day Awareness Program – Promoting Health Through Education

On March 4, 2025, II-year B.Sc. Nursing students (III Semester) from Kumaran College of Nursing conducted an insightful awareness program at Kumaran Medical Center, Coimbatore, in observance of World Obesity Day. Guided by Dr. Vijayalakshmi (Principal) and Prof. Amutha (Vice Principal), and supported by Dr. Praveenraj and Dr. Sasikuppusamy, the event highlighted the importance of preventing obesity through lifestyle changes.
Ten students actively participated by presenting informative charts on obesity risk factors, complications, and the obesity scale. They also showcased healthy vs. unhealthy food choices and distributed pamphlets on diet and exercise. The session, overseen by faculty member Mrs. Kayalvizhi, ran from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, successfully engaging visitors and promoting better health awareness.
Awareness Session on Indoor Air Pollution – Kumaran College of Nursing

On February 28, 2025, Kumaran College of Nursing, Coimbatore, hosted an awareness session on Indoor Air Pollution as part of Indoor Air Pollution Month 2025. Organized by II-year B.Sc. Nursing students, the session educated I and II-year students on the causes, effects, and preventive measures using PowerPoint presentations, charts, and live plant displays. The initiative aimed to highlight the importance of maintaining clean indoor air for better health and well-being.
Lamp Lighting Ceremony – A Sacred Beginning for Future Nurses

Guided by the Principal and Vice Principal, the event was organized by II-year B.Sc. Nursing students and faculty. Dr. Lizzie Raveendran, Principal of GEM College of Nursing, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The ceremony, honored by the Chairman and Chief Nursing Officer, symbolized the students’ commitment to compassionate care, inspired by Florence Nightingale, the “Lady with the Lamp”.
Anatomy and Physiology Exhibition – 2025

On 6th February 2025, Nightingale Institute of Nursing and Physiotherapy, M.G.R Nagar, Madukkarai, hosted an Anatomy and Physiology Exhibition. Our B.Sc. Nursing 1st-year students actively participated by showcasing posters, solid models, and working models.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. K. Narayanasamy M.D., D.M. (Gastro), Vice Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.

National Blood Donor Month 2025 – Awareness Initiative

As part of National Blood Donor Month 2025, B.Sc. (N) II-year students from Kumaran College of Nursing organized an awareness event at the Primary Healthcare Centre, Semmanichettipalayam, from 10 AM to 11 AM.

- A mime performance emphasized the importance of blood donation.
- Activity-based sessions engaged participants, reinforcing the message.

Republic Day Celebration – 2025

Awareness Rally on “No Usage of Plastic”

Kumaran College of Nursing, in collaboration with Kovilpalayam Panchayat, organized an awareness rally on 25th January 2025 to promote plastic-free living. The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Komalavalli Kandhaswami, Mr. Vijayakumar, and Mr. Parithiban.
SNA volunteers actively participated, carrying placards with impactful slogans like “Say No to Plastic,” “Plastic-Free Future,” and “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.” They also distributed pamphlets to local shops. The rally started from the Panchayat Office and concluded at Kovilpalayam Bus Stand, ending with a pledge to reduce plastic use.
